Why StillPhone?

Two minutes for all of it: what we do, why it is needed, and what we don't do.

What we do

You connect your phone to a computer, your apps are listed, and you choose which ones stay. Nothing is deleted and your data stays — the ones you didn't choose simply become unreachable.

Why it is needed

Every limit on your phone has an exit, and that exit is in your hand. When Instagram's daily limit fires, one tap on Dismiss puts you back in the feed. The person setting the limit and the one removing it are the same person — eight hours later and more tired.

How

  1. Connect the phone to a computer
  2. Pick your apps from the list
  3. Decide how long it lasts

Two options per app

Mix them freely: some closed, some on a budget, some untouched.

Here is the difference

What you closed can't be reopened from the phone that night. Changing your mind means sitting down at a computer and waiting out a delay you set yourself during setup. The decision is still yours — the calm version of you.
