We wanted a phone that runs on a decision, not on notifications.
StillPhone grew out of a single honest observation: distraction isn't a willpower problem, it's a friction problem. Almost every tool that applies a limit to yourself can be switched off with one tap in that same weak moment. We turned that around.
Our bet
There's a big difference between saying "I don't want this app" and actually not being able to reach it. Most digital-detox tools on the market solve the first one — a settings screen, a timer, a pretty stats page. But when the real urge hits, you can undo it from that same settings screen in two seconds.
StillPhone solves it by writing the decision into the phone itself — not into an app setting. You make the call once, and StillPhone keeps that call for you — you win, not the momentary impulse. We explain exactly how we set this up on the FAQ page.
How we work
